Are eCruizers bicycles or motorcycles?
eCruizers are technically classified electronic bicycles some of our models are designed to look like motor scooters while others more closely resemble bicycles. Our bicycles have both pedals and an electric motor. The motor scooter style also has pedals that can be attached but are seldom used. Our line of eCruizers give you the option of riding them like a Motorcycle, Pedaling them like a bicycle or riding them like a hybrid in the pedal assisted mode.
Do I need a driver’s license or insurance to ride an eCruizer on the street?
Because we are classified a bicycle you don’t need a drivers license. However, some states require that riders be at least 15 ½ to ride eCruizers on the street. Insurance is not required. Electric bicycles are a motorized vehicle operating on the street and we recommend that you strongly consider insurance.
Why should I buy the eCruizer brand of electric bike?
eCruizer offers the best customer service; the best warranty; a wide range of product; inventory of replacement parts; retail locations, outstanding warranty and are the best value in the industry. We also have some of the greenest products on the maket.
Where do I get service?
Our bikes have few moving parts and generally need very little service. Most owners can completely maintain their own bikes. In addition most bicycle shops can do any routine maintenance that might be necessary. Finally you can get help on any maintenance issues by contacting our customer service desk on line or bring the bike in to one of our retail stores.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, eCruizer has a great warranty. Both the battery and the motor are fully warranted for one year from the date of purchase.
How fast do they go?
eCruizers normally travel approximately 25 MPH on level ground, depending on rider’s weight. That is plenty fast. Studies in Los Angles have shown that 80% of the miles driven by cars in LA are driven at speeds below 20 MPH. Independent tests have shown that eCruizers can get you to a destination faster than the bus for commuting. In addition, they run door to door and on your schedule.
Are eCruizers affordable?
This is one of the most cost effective modes of transportation available today. With prices ranging from $800 -$1200 they are very inexpensive to buy.
How much does it cost to own and operate an eCruizer?
Owning an eCruizer is amazingly inexpensive. Government published studies say it costs $.57 per mile to own and operate a car verses less than $.02 per mile for electric bikes.
How far can I travel between charges?
You can travel 20 to 70 miles between charges depending on the amount of weight you are carrying, the incline of the road, the temperature and the amount you pedal. Pedal assisted models travel the furthest on a charge and have been reported to go as far as 70 miles on a single charge. The motor scooters have the shortest travel on a charge and usually range between 20 to 30 miles.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
If the battery is fully discharged it usually takes approximately 4-6 hours to recharge the battery. Lithium Ion batteries usually take close to 4 hours to charge while the lead acid batteries take closer to 6 hours. Most times you recharge the battery before it is fully discharged and the batteries can usually be recharged in 2-3 hours.

Lead batteries usually last approximately two years. Lithium Ion batteries last longer and should work beyond 4 years.
Where can I purchase new batteries?
